My weekend visit to the American Visionary Art Museum, a very unique museum featuring the “What Makes Us Smile” exhibit. I recommend a trip if you are into more unique art featuring pop-culture and gags. It’s not your typical framed oil paintings exhibit, people are here to laugh and have a good time.

The Love Song

For my final type project I did a two-page layout using the last few stanzas of T.S. Elliot’s The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock.

My idea was to take the imagery of an approaching storm over the ocean. The crow was later added to give the viewer a focal point that also pushes the eye toward the right page.

After reading Pirate Latitudes by the late Michael Crichton I decided to come up with my own cover art for the book.

I wanted to keep and advance upon the trees and shrubs surrounding the corners of the cover, and give the book a more harsh tropical island feel with the brighter colors.
